Sports Development for behavior change
Youth Development Programme in its efforts to promote active participation of youth and children in reducing the spread of HIV infection and mitigating the impact of AIDS employed sports as tool that could pull together and share information on HIV/AIDS

For this to happen, the programme trained youth and teachers skills and peer education.   It further trained youth and teachers sports administrators and organizers to organize community sporting events.   Apart from the aforesaid coaches in football and netball were

also conducted through one week training session.   All the people trained were asked to go and develop plans that would include skills and peer education and sports hence integration of HIV/AIDS sports

The outcome of all the trainings has been that community trophies have organized were life skills and HIV/AIDS education haven been passed to youth and children.   Furthermore the trophies managed to attract the support of opinion leaders in the areas were conducted.   Seeing that the tools could have lasting impact on the youth, members of parliament for these areas, gave out money to support other trophies
